Role Title:  Business Intelligence Analyst

The Role

 

Purpose

The Business Intelligence Analyst supports the delivery of high-quality data insights and reporting across the wealth management business. Working closely with the Commercial Insights Manager, this role is responsible for gathering, analysing, and visualising sales and performance data to help drive commercial decision-making. The role will also support regional offices with tailored reporting and contribute to the development and maintenance of dashboards and business intelligence tools.

 

Outcomes of the Role

  • Data and MI Management - Maintain accurate, timely MI to support commercial, client, and quality goals.
  • Oversee and refine the client data bank to enable proactive engagement, adviser reallocation, and marketing. Ensure data integrity across all reporting and dashboard outputs.
  • Insight and Performance Analysis - Analyse sales and client data to track KPIs (e.g. net flows, AUM, client activity). Identify trends, anomalies, and performance flags; escalate issues where needed. Provide tailored insights to regional offices for local business planning.
  • Reporting and Dashboards - Build and maintain dashboards (e.g. Power BI) to visualise performance and client data. Automate recurring reports and improve dashboard usability. Embed CRM-driven processes to support MI and client data management.
  • Systems and Tools - Collaborate with external system providers to ensure platforms meet business needs and are updated effectively. Identify new tools or system enhancements to improve functionality and reduce manual workarounds.
  • Governance and Compliance - Ensure reporting and data practices meet regulatory and contractual obligations. Support data governance and compliance monitoring.
  • Collaboration and Support - Work with internal teams (Sales, CCO, Finance, Tech) to align data needs. Present insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Support ad hoc projects (e.g. fee menu, business plans) with CRM and BI expertise.
  • Training and Enablement - Deliver training on systems, dashboards, and internal tools to improve data literacy across the business.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Leadership
  • Influencing/ Stakeholder management
  • Highly IT literate Strong Excel skills and experience with data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI).
  • High level of numeracy
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proven MI skills
  • Knowledge of regulatory environment in which we operate.
  • Understanding of the products and services Rathbone provide
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and data querying tools (e.g., SQL) is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to data handling.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
