Job Title: Stewardship and Engagement Lead

The Role
Responsible for the delivery of key engagement projects, building relationships with external partner organisations and shaping Greenbank’s engagement strategy, priorities and reporting. Also responsible for supporting Greenbank’s investment managers in winning and maintaining client relationships and helping to maintain Greenbank’s position as one of the UK’s leading providers ESI investment services.
Outcomes of the Role
- Successfully delivers Greenbank’s key engagement projects with support from the wider team, including building improved contact with external partners to maximise the impact of Greenbank’s engagement
- Steers the ongoing development of Greenbank's engagement strategy and priorities
- Delivers effective reporting to clients and investment team on engagement plans and outcomes.
- Supports investment team members in winning new business and helping to maintain a strong relationship with existing clients through pitches and regular client meetings
- Resolves queries from clients and other internal and external stakeholders in an accurate and timely manner
- Drives the continuing professional development of oneself and of the wider team, especially more junior ESI research team members.
- Makes informed ESI research assessments based on sound ESI analysis of companies, funds and other potential investments
- Successfully supports group-wide ESG and RI initiatives where appropriate and where these overlap with Greenbank’s engagement activities (including Engagement Committee and Climate and Nature Working Group)
- Lead elements of Greenbank’s thematic research, responsible for setting strategy and steering research outputs
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Passion for sustainability and using capital as a force for good for society and the wider environment
- Knowledge of ethical, sustainable and impact investment and the wider market in which we operate
- Knowledge of stewardship and engagement
- Knowledge of different sustainable development issues and how they intersect with corporate activities and / or investments
- Strong analytical skills and ability to handle qualitative and quantitative information
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence in utilising IT systems
- Experience working in a role combining business with knowledge of sustainability issues; experience in Financial Services, the Investment or Wealth Management industry is desirable, but not mandatory
