Role Title: Client Reporting Engineer

About the Role

 

Be part of how Rathbones brings client data to life. As a Client Reporting Engineer, you’ll convert complex financial and valuation information into polished, visually engaging, client‑ready reports that reflect the quality of our brand. This is a hands‑on role blending technical expertise with attention to detail, where you’ll build robust data solutions, optimise performance, and deliver high‑impact reporting to tight deadlines within a leading wealth management firm.

 

What you’ll be responsible for

 

  •  Build and modify reporting layouts in client reporting  layout building tools, including introduction pages, charts, tables, and performance pages.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries, macros, and functions to perform complex data transformations.
  • Monitor and optimise data build tool models and transformations for performance, including query optimisation 
  • Create and maintain comprehensive data documentation, including ETL/ELT processes, models, and business logic.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data build tool jobs and pipelines to ensure they run efficiently and meet SLAs.
  • Translate valuation models and financial data into clear, structured narratives and visuals.
  • Ensure correct alignment, colour palettes, branding, and layout structure across all output pages and ensure that they are applied consistently.
  • Manage report timelines to meet client reporting deadlines.
  • Support time critical mass report production runs.

 

About you

  • Experience in designing and producing professional client reports with strong document design and layout skills.
  • Experience with data build tools, SQL and stat modelling techniques.
  • Hands on experience with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Knowledge of data pipelines, ETL/ELT frameworks, and data orchestration tools
  • Experience in Snowflake data warehouse, Power BI and Alteryx reporting tools is desirable.
  • Ability to present complex financial information clearly.
  • Strong written skills required to produce documentation that is concise and accurate.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with a varying level of stakeholders both IT and business to develop strong professional relationships.
  • Strong Service focus, looking to increase benefit to internal customers and clients through service excellence.
