Role Title: Data Analyst

Division: Technology

Location: Glasgow, Liverpool, London

Contract: Permanent

Reports to: Head of Function or Manager

Working pattern: Hybrid

About the Role

The Data Analyst works closely with Business and Product teams to develop strategic data platforms. Possessing a balanced mix of technical and business skills, Data Analysts are responsible for defining organisational data assets, manipulating and linking datasets to support decision-making across the firm. Using AI coding assistants (e.g. Claude Code, approved tools), alongside SQL/Python in order to deliver faster, reliable, well-governed analytics solutions in a regulated environment

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Work with Data colleagues and Business Data Offices to deliver strategic initiatives aligned to organisational objectives.
  • Analyse data using statistical techniques and communicate insights effectively to senior stakeholders.
  • Examine and improve data quality, collaborating with change and technology teams to enhance systems and database design.
  • Summarise and present complex data and conclusions in formats appropriate to the audience.

  • Use AI assistants to accelerate SQL/Python development, refactoring, analysis, and documentation.
  • Apply disciplined validation (sense checks, reconciliations, peer review/testing where appropriate) — especially for AI‑generated outputs.
  • Build repeatable, deployable outputs (curated datasets, automated reporting, dashboards) not one-off analysis.
  • Turn recurring work into reusable components (templates, shared queries, documented metric definitions).
  • Hands-on experience with Claude Code / coding assistants and knowing how to use them safely and effectively.
  • Strong SQL + Python (with a “production mindset”: clarity, performance, reproducibility).
  • Comfort with Snowflake + Power BI (and cloud exposure like Azure/AWS if you want it explicit).
  • Strong judgement on when to trust vs. verify AI outputs.
