Role Title: Data Support Engineer

The Role
Data Support Engineers work closely with change delivery colleagues to develop strategic data platforms and to support those platforms once operational. A balanced mix of development and support skills are used to assist us towards our strategic goals. This role is responsible for organisation of data assets, manipulation and linking of. Additional responsibilities are amongst MI systems, MuleSoft, Power Apps etc. to create business benefit.
Outcomes of the Role
- Collaborate with colleagues in the Group Data Office that will enable the organisation Strategy and deliver business changes.
- Contribute to project delivery, including service improvements, deployments, and other data initiatives.
- Support BAU activity through established ITIL processes.
- Identify and implement opportunities for automation and continuous service improvement.
- Help set and maintain data operations standards for use across the wider business.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team and participate on key initiatives.
- Confident at managing relationships and communicating with team members and management.
- Skilled at balancing delivery with support needs, and comfortable working under pressure in a complex, regulated environment.
- Modern Workplace, remote working, Office365 Productivity stack
- Experience working within the ITIL framework (incident, request, change and problem management).
- Experience working with SFTP and REST APIs.
- Experience with a cloud platform, such as AWS or Azure.
- Experience with shell scripting such as PowerShell or Bash.
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools such as PowerBI, Business Objects
- Familiarity with databases technologies such as SQL Server and Snowflake.
- Comfortable with common database terminology (e.g. schemas, tables, views, keys)
