The Role
The Finance BI & DA Senior Analyst will leverage data to provide insights and enhance decision-making. This role will focus on developing and maintaining business intelligence solutions, delivering financial reports, and supporting advanced analytics to provide actionable insights that drive strategic decisions. The Senior Analyst will work closely with the Finance BI & DA Manager and collaborate with other teams to support financial planning and data-driven initiatives.
Outcomes of the Role
Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Conduct detailed analysis of financial data, identifying trends and opportunities that influence key business decisions.
- Design and produce financial reports, dashboards, and KPIs that provide clear insights into organizational performance.
- Ensure reports are aligned with the business’s objectives and regulatory standards.
Business Intelligence & Data Visualization:
- Develop and manage BI solutions, including dashboards and visual reports, to support financial performance tracking.
- Automate routine reports to enhance efficiency and provide quick access to critical business insights.
- Ensure the tools used (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) are optimized to display financial data accurately and effectively.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate closely with internal finance teams, including Finance Insight Team, to provide data-driven insights and support decision-making.
- Present findings to non-technical stakeholders in a clear, actionable format, ensuring that data insights align with business objectives.
Advanced Analytics Support:
- Assist in implementing advanced analytics models, working closely with the Finance BI & DA Manager.
- Provide support in predictive and prescriptive analytics projects that will contribute to financial forecasting and strategic planning.
- Take the lead on specific data analytics projects, managing timelines and deliverables.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Alteryx, Power BI, SAP Analytics Cloud).
- Experience with Snowflake Data Warehouse and data modelling.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as R and Python is highly desirable.
Analytical Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and provide actionable insights.
- Expertise in statistical analysis and predictive modelling techniques.
Communication Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to influence and challenge opinions based on data-driven insights.
Personal Attributes:
- Proactive and results-oriented mindset with a strong desire to learn and adapt.
- Strong commitment to data quality and integrity.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Degree in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Finance, Statistics, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CBIP, CFA, Microsoft Data Analyst) is an advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in data analytics or business intelligence, preferably within a finance function.
