The Role
The data support manager is responsible for the ongoing operations, maintenance, management, upgrade and reporting of the systems and tools utilised across the data office in both the operational and analysis capacity.
Outcomes of the Role
- Providing 2nd and 3rd line operational technical support for the platforms, systems, services and tools in use by the Group data office in the provision of operational and analytical services to the business.
- To report monthly on the status of these service to the Data leadership team for onwards reporting into committees and forums required
- To manage and motivate a team of data support analysts in the provision of services, ensuring a culture of high performance.
- Responsible for input and consultations on systems upgrade and changes required to support the overall data strategy, delivering the business objectives and best value
- Act as SME where required in support of delivery of the data strategy and overall product and change agenda
- Provide technical guidance on Data management and security to ensure solutions are architected and designed in line with company standards, policies and desired outcomes.
- Provide technical and service design to ensure solutions are designed in line with company and strategy direction and anticipating various commitments
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Excellent interpersonal and articulate communication skills, including ability to negotiate successful outcomes.
- Must be a self-starter, a team player, and be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Acts with integrity
- Demonstrable previous experience of leading teams of Data support analysts.
- Experience in SQL and/or Python or JavaScript, and technologies relevant to Rathbones.
- Working knowledge of ETL tools
- Understanding of Data Warehouse and Data Lake architecture concepts e.g Schema, Layering,
- Experience developing and operating data stores in cloud environments – AWS/Azure
- Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle, source code management, code reviews
- Ability to work as part of a team along with other data engineers and architects
- Degree educated in a data-related or Computer Science related subject
- Experience in financial services, particularly wealth and asset management
- Experience with Snowflake and/or Alteryx
- Experience of Mulesoft
