About the Role
Support the CEO of Wealth with the embedment of the Group Risk Management Framework and its constituent policies across the Wealth business and all of its entities. Support the CEO of Wealth and 1LOD senior management in undertaking their roles and responsibilities around risk management and inform risk-based decision making through meaningful and insightful reporting.
What you’ll be responsible for
- Support the embedment of the Group Risk Management Framework in the Wealth business.
- Coordinate the review of policies in accordance with the Group Policy framework and support the business to ensure adherence to relevant standards.
- Proactively collaborate and co-ordinate risk management activity with the 2LOD and 3LOD of defence and act as a conduit in support of RCSAs and any Audit activity.
- Deliver effective risk management in the business, through engagement with senior management in risk committees, through leading RCSAs with key stakeholders, control reviews and risk opinions.
- Contribute to the ongoing assessment and monitoring of current and emerging risks.
- Support the business in risk event reporting, undertaking root cause analysis and implementing pertinent remedial actions to prevent recurrence.
- Support the business in designing and constructing meaningful Key Risk and Key Control Indicators, in accordance with the Group Standard.
- Challenge controls and advise the business on related improvements.
- Provide timely, relevant and accurate risk reports to stakeholders, including as part of the Executive Risk Committee Client-facing conduct, risk and compensation forum and the Wealth Management Committee.
- Advise the business on the management of risk exposures and remediation of control deficiencies.
- Promote active issue management ownership and support in implementing appropriate remedial actions promptly.
- Provide training and support to Risk Champions across the business.
- Participate in Change/Projects ensuring risk management principles are adequately applied.
- Conducting ad-hoc risk assessments/gap analyses based on trigger events.
- Engaging with Area Heads/Business Heads to ensure they have visibility of risk events and issues in their areas and that any necessary follow up action is undertaken.
- Consideration and escalation of any themes stemming from 1LOD assurance activity, risk events and issues.
- Measures of success
- Effective collaboration with senior management and executive levels of the business to ensure appropriate operational risk management across Wealth.
- Provision of insightful risk reports, effective and meaningful management information and risk oversight to support business decisions and operational risk management.
- Demonstrate positive collaboration with the 2LOD and 3LOD.
- Maintain independence and objectivity to sufficiently challenge the business on the adequacy of risk management activity and internal controls.

- Professional experience and qualifications (where relevant)
- Risk qualification, such as International Diploma in Risk Management preferred
- Significant experience in a Risk Management role
- Experience in Wealth Management preferred
