Role Title: Senior Asset Allocation Analyst

About the Role
To help provide timely, relevant economic and “top-down” investment analysis to Rathbones’ Asset Allocation Committee and Investment Managers.
What you’ll be responsible for
- Analyse and interpret economic and market data to support Rathbones’ central investment process.
- Build and develop quantitative frameworks to improve the depth of Rathbones’ analysis.
- Support investment managers by responding to their queries and presenting at firm-wide or division-level research meetings.
- Produce internal research notes and external pieces of thought leadership. Communicate them effectively.
- Proactively identify research areas to improve the investment process.
- Support the delivery of the overall investment process by working with the wider research team (including equities, fixed income, collectives and risk modelling specialists).
About you
If you meet some of these criteria and are excited about the role, we encourage you to apply
- Strong practical understanding of, and interest in, economics and econometric/quantitative techniques.
- Coding experience (especially Python) is an advantage, but not essential.
- Knowledge of long-term asset return forecasting and/or portfolio optimisation is an advantage, but not essential.
- Ability to explain complex concepts in plain English and in engaging style, including to less technical audiences. Strong ability to present information visually.
- Proactive and accountable. Independently able to identify research areas relevant to business needs or improvements to existing frameworks.
- Knowledge of regulatory environment in which we operate.
- Understanding of the products and services Rathbones provides.
- Significant experience working in an investment-related role in Financial Services on either the sell- or buy-side. (working in an economics or investment strategy team is not required)
A bachelors (minimum 2.i) or masters (minimum Merit grade) degree in Economics, Political Economy, Economic History, or a related
