Role Title: Senior Colleague Communications Manager

About the role 

We're looking for an experienced senior colleague communications professional to lead the internal communications workstream for a major group-wide programme. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract (with potential to extend) and sits within the Colleague Communications & Advocacy team. 

You'll own this workstream end-to-end, shaping the strategy, running the plan and delivering the day-to-day. It spans the whole of our business, so you'll be comfortable working across functions, engaging senior stakeholders in every part of the group and translating complex, sensitive material into clear, human communications for colleagues. 

You'll know you're succeeding when colleagues across the group understand what the programme means for them and their work, senior leaders trust you as their comms partner, and the workstream delivers on time and to a consistently high standard, without needing to be closely managed.  

 

What you'll be responsible for 

  • Owning the colleague communications strategy and plan for a group-wide programme, from design through to delivery 

  • Working hand-in-hand with business readiness and training teams to sequence comms, learning and change activity into a single, coherent colleague experience 

  • Drawing on the company narrative to shape and cascade programme messaging into key colleague touchpoints 

  • Partnering with senior leaders and programme leads across the business as their trusted communications adviser 

  • Producing and distributing high-quality, high-impact communications for a range of colleague audiences across the group 

  • Translating technical, procedural and change content into clear, plain English communications 

  • Developing and delivering communication plans that support change and transformation activity 

  • Using a modern, integrated mix of channels and formats, including SharePoint, Viva Engage, email, in-person and virtual events 

  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders across the business on behalf of the Colleague Communications & Advocacy team 

  • Working with the wider team to maintain and continually improve our planning, production and measurement process 

  • Coaching colleagues on communications and managing agency partners where needed 

 

About you 

  • Significant experience in senior colleague communications roles, leading strategies and delivery in large, complex organisations in senior colleague communications roles, leading strategies and delivery in large, complex organisations 

  • A strategic thinker who is equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves and delivering the work 

  • Confident operating independently, running your own workstream with minimal direction 

  • Strong track record of partnering with senior leaders, including at executive level, and influencing across functions 

  • KPI-driven, with a track record of setting and hitting measurable engagement targets 

  • Remarkable storytelling, writing and presentation skills, with a proven ability to turn complex content into clear, plain English 

  • Tech-savvy and data-driven, confident using SharePoint, Viva Engage and modern email tools to activate and measure campaigns 

  • Comfortable using AI tools to speed up and sharpen comms production, measurement and insight 

  • Solid grounding in creative production, with the ability to visually express content with minimal creative team support (including video and event production) 

  • Meticulously organised and highly flexible, with a proven ability to balance multiple priorities at once 

  • Experience supporting change and transformation programmes 

  • Experience in Wealth and Asset Management, or more broadly in Financial Services (an advantage, not a requirement)
