The Role
Investment analyst role to support Head of Asia ex Japan in fundamental research. The candidate should have genuine interests and passion in fundamental company research and interests in Asia Pacific.
Outcomes of the Role
This role is suitable for someone with deep intellectual curiosity, interest in investing in Asia Pacific region, passion for research (basic research – not reliant on sell side research), interested in fundamental company valuation and enjoys working in a collaborative culture. This is mainly a research role and is suitable for someone who is interested in developing an investment research career.
- Supports the Head of Asia ex Japan in fundamental research – this will involve industry and sector analysis, business model analysis and valuation analysis.
- Ability to interpret structured and unstructured data using both quantitative and qualitative methods
- Opportunity to develop data analysis skills (e.g coding) and emerging new methods (and explore new tools e,g. AI solutions)
- Develop written investment thesis and valuation models and worksheets for sectors and companies under coverage.
- Learn more about the wider asset management industry and fund management
- Support administrative tasks and special projects as needed.
Knowledge & Experience
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in coding languages such as Python an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Power BI and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Interest in financial markets and investment management.
- Proficiencies in one or more Asian languages is a plus.
