About the Role

 

To act as a key member of the second line of defence (2LOD) within the RIMI Compliance function, in support of RIMI and the Group strategy. The main purpose of the role will be to undertake Compliance Monitoring reviews and assess various business processes for adherence to regulatory requirements and produce a final report documenting key findings and recommendations

 

What you’ll be responsible for

 

To take primary responsibility within the function for the following:

•Lead in the delivery of an annual risk-based monitoring programme for the investment management business within the Compliance Monitoring Plan (CMP), in line with regulatory requirements, and to ensure the smooth delivery of said plan to a high standard of quality.

•Lead in the production of Regulatory File Reviews, including analysis of areas within the business, regulatory themes and regulatory change.

•Provide oversight and challenge to ensure relevant business processes are established and maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements to conduct detailed analysis of regulatory compliance issues and proposals.

•Support RIMI Compliance Officer and RIMI Assistant Compliance Officer with the production of reports and management information, committee, project representation and staff training.

•Support in Complaint Root Cause Analysis and production of correspondence with Business and client.

•Assisting on periodic reviews of the RIMI Compliance Manual ensuring it remains aligned to Jersey and Guernsey legal and regulatory requirements (including, but not limited to, Investment Business Code of Practice and Client Assets Order) RIMI Compliance Policy & Group Compliance Manual, where appropriate.

Measures of success

•Compliance Monitoring reviews are completed in a timely manner and contribute to the overall annual plan being completed on time.

•Management actions arising from reviews are closed with the business in a timely manner.

•Successful completion of schedule of Regulatory File Review each quarter as per agreed framework and agreement with EXCO.

•Successful completion of ad-hoc limited reviews

 

About you

•IT literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio and Access

•An awareness of and the ability to review and interpret regulations, specifically JFSC.

•Knowledge of the wealth management industry would be advantageous but not essential

•Good communication skills, both verbal and written

•Inquisitive & analytical mind-set

•Strong organisation & co-ordination skills; with an attention to detail

•Ability to deliver on time

•Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Professional experience and qualifications

•Industry recognised investment and/or compliance qualification desirable.

•Significant relevant experience

•Proven accuracy and numeracy skills with experience in report writing is desirable
